Welcome to Mary Margaret Day Care and Learning Center providing child care in South St Louis! We are located at 2549 Telegraph Road in South County. Our hours are Monday thru Friday 6:30 am-6:00 pm. (Cutoff for morning drop-off is 10 am.)
We enroll children starting at 6 weeks through 12 years, and are a Missouri state licensed preschool center providing nutritious meals, snacks, infant formula, baby food, and baby cereal at no extra cost for your little ones.
Activities
Tummy time is very important for a baby’s overall development and all of Mary Margaret Day Care infants have tummy time on a daily basis. Mary Margaret Day Care also practices Safe Sleep policy as set forth by the Department of Health. Our Semi-toddlers learn how to parallel play and engage in simple art and sensory activities. These little ones love to dance, sing songs, read stories and perform finger-plays. Toddlers learn to sit at a table on chairs and sleep on cots instead of cribs. Group activities start at this age group.
Our preschool program begins in our two year old room, with structured activities, hands on learning, with free choice time. We have a letter, number, color and shape we focus on each week. We begin potty learning in our two year old room, and our teachers offer a fun loving, learning environment. We are always available to answer any questions or concerns. Each parent is given a daily report on their how their child’s day went and also a chart on their progress with potty learning.
As the children venture onto the three year old room, class time becomes more structured. We begin tracing letters, recognition and sounds of each letter as well as colors, numbers, and shapes. The children start working in small groups with hands-on learning activities as well. Daily reports are also given out for parents.
The Pre-k class continues their work on letters, moving on to blending of sounds, sight words, spelling. We also begin taking number recognition to counting, adding, and subtracting. We begin practicing science activities and helping prepare your little one for kindergarten, which includes field trips in this classroom. The teacher communicates through email and text with the parents, keeping the line of communication open at all times.
For our older children we also offer a before and after school age program. We receive bus transportation to and from several local St. Louis Public Schools. We provide our before and after children with breakfast and snack. Additionally, Mary Margaret Day Care offers an awesome summer program that include exciting field trips that are educational and fun!
We are proud sponsors of the TEACH MO scholarship program. We currently have 3 staff members on the scholarship attending college.
All staff are CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
